If the people you share it with aren’t very excited about your idea, consider reworking it or even starting over.If they start getting visibly excited about the story, on the other hand, then you know you’re onto something.Here’s my advice: If you’re in the mood to begin a new short story, stop trying to find the best short story idea. More ideas won’t help you if you don’t write them, and they might just distract you from your true purpose.
